Deltona FL Real Estate

Deltona, FL, also known as Florida's Bright Spot, is located in Volusia County along the state's eastern coast. Originating as a retirement community with 4,000 residents, Deltona has grown into an active city filled with outdoor activities and community events for the over 85,000 residents that call it home. The saying goes "location is king in real estate," and Deltona may have one of the best locations in Florida. The city is situated half-way between Daytona Beach and Orlando—about a 30-minute drive to either city--giving its residents easy access to beautiful beaches and the some of the world's most famous theme parks.

After Florida gained statehood in 1845, steamboats began to travel up the St. Johns River to Lake Monroe. People began to explore the area, finding an abundance of fresh water and fish, commodities that had originally attracted the nomadic Timucuan people to the region. From there, the city was slow to grow until real estate developers bought over 17,000 acres of land for a planned, residential community in 1962. Originally called Deltona Lakes, the new community grew rapidly throughout the next two decades. Deltona Lakes was officially incorporated as The City of Deltona in 1995.

Though Deltona has grown exponentially, it still maintains the charm of its community-driven roots. The Deltona, FL, real estate markets offers its residents a variety of homes for sale accommodating a diversity of lifestyles from simple starter houses to grand, executive homes.

Deltona's motto is: "I'm proud to be a part of it!" From gorgeous city parks to local lakes, the city's residents enjoy Florida's warm temperatures and outdoor lifestyles; the Deltona area has over 100 lakes and 19 parks.
Vann Park, covering approximately 24 acres, and Campbell Park, covering about 14 acres, are two of the city's largest and most popular parks for family fun. Take advantage of the parks' amenities including a boardwalk, hiking trails, picnic facilities and sport courts. When you head to Deltona's Lake Monroe to experience the wonders of life on the lake, go wildlife spotting, fishing, or take an airboat tour. Get to know your neighbors during Deltona's annual community events like the annual July 4th Celebration, Halloween Spooktacular, or Deltona Christmas parade all helping to add to the city's small town charm.

As a medium-sized, Florida city, there is an abundance of opportunity for Deltona, FL residents. Some of the area's top industries include: health care, education, hospitality and tourism, construction, food service, finance, sales, and manufacturing. The largest employers during 2014 in Deltona, FL were Daytona State College, Publix Supermarkets, and Wal-Mart. Deltona, FL is also a city of commuters, with many people seeking employment throughout the region in cities such as Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, and Orlando. Manufacturing and biotech jobs abound, as the region sits on the eastern edge of the Florida High Tech Corridor.
